David grew up in Wexford and attended St Peters College, Wexford, and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland where he qualified in 1983. David has extensive experience in general practice and specifically sports injuries, Musculo Skeletal and occupational medicine. David specialises in preventative medicine especially cardio vascular disease prevention. He was Medical Advisor to the Federation of Irish Cycling in 1990’s and worked on many International cycling races in Ireland and the UK from 1984 to 2009 including the Nissan Classic, Tour of Britain, and the 1998 Tour de France for its passage through Ireland, as well as the Inaugural Tour of Beijing Cycling Race 2011 and 2012.
He is Tutor to the GP under- graduate program of UCD Medical School and is the ICGP Tutor to the Wexford Town Branch of the ICGP.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, David has been working with the HSE in assisting their management of the crisis. In his spare time, David is an avid cyclist and water enthusiast.
